About Us
I hear those techies always saying the only cure is a format and reinstall. Why and what does it mean?

After running for a time Windows 98 and to a lesser degree, NT, ME , XP and Windows2000,  your system will start to slow down.

This is caused by the many installs and uninstall of software and patches that occur with the day to day operation of Windows.

Some programs don't cleanup after themselves when removed, older device drivers may still be running even though they no longer are used. I could have been a bad install or uninstall.

There are so many minor things that go wrong they combine to a major slowdown.

Many times the decision to format and reinstall is just a matter of time. The 4-6 hour install is less that the day or week to troubleshoot the problem.

After all, as a paying customer which would you rather pay for ?  4 hours or a day or more?

The time for a install can also be reduced to less than 30 minutes by the use of a restore disk .

What do they actually do?

It's actually a pretty simple process.

  • You boot into dos mode or the installation mode of your operating system
  • Delete and format the partition that contained the operating system.
  • Reinstall the Operating system and download and apply all the current patches and fixes.
  • Install your application software.
  • Defrag your hard drive

English Please ...

Erase everything on your computer, prepare the computer for a  fresh install (formatting) and then put back only the items that are needed. Then making sure that everything is updated with the current releases for that version.

How long does it take?

Normally around 4 - 6 hours
